I'd check them both just to show them how diverse I am! That makes plenty of sense to me. If we can harness diversity the way we use wind or solar energy, then so much the better. I'm sick of the discussion because I think you end up with manufactured diversity when we already have a country that is rich in diversity. Urban areas make that blend of cultures and interactions easier, but the areas that are predominantly one thing or another are fading, and I hope they'll be a thing of the past in 20 years or so. I think our diverse backgrounds make us strong, and I'd love to see more focus on "how diverse can we be?" and more emphasis on: "We ARE diverse - how are we going to use that to our advantage?"
